Kibblestone is the county camp site of Staffordshire scout county in
middle England. It is a wooded site with plenty of room to camp or to
stay indoors with a 'Cub Lair' for 30 Cubs, a training centre, chalet
and other small accomodation.
Kibblestone has a large and muddy assault course which cubs and scouts
use, and opened a Beaver Scout (kids aged 6-7) assault course 18 months
ago (Scouting mag. featured the assault course opening on its cover last
year). The camp also has a small crag for abseiling, a shallow swimming
pool, plus facilities for archery, orienteering, canoeing and
pioneering.
The site hosts a large International Scout Camp every few years, the
most recent being last summer. My Cub Scout Pack enjoys visiting every
couple of years. It being a popular place we have already booked a
weekend at the Cub Lair in October 1998!
