Mark, I see the chairmanship as a possible Eagle project. It depends on
whether or not the conference planning and execution is a "formula" project.
Is everything is already planned and the chairman merely confirms a few
dates and sends out some confirmation letters? Or does he and the committee
actually plan the conference, find and secure the presenters, (and
interpreters?) arrange the location, food service, local housing, provide
for additional TDDs and conference publicity?
In the latter case, I believe his chairmanship would qualify as his Eagle
project. As has been said here many times, it all depends on the leadership
skills being exercised. Having chaired a similar statewide conference, I can
appreciate the work involved in making it happen,
In any event, I wish your scout success with the conference. He sounds as
though he is will be a leader in his community.
