Newsletter Help

In response to my fellow Eagle patrol member, Susan Best from
NE-IV-89 regarding the content of our troop newsletter, let me say
the following. We tried to publish a monthly newsletter, however,
our troop secretary just couldn't do it. Now we publish 2 in the fall
and 2 in the spring. We put in articles about recent camping trips
and upcoming ones, if we had a Court of Honor recently we put in
who got what badges and we have a column written by one of our
Scouts where he interviews one of our new Scouts. We might
throw in some other general information, most of which comes
from this list. This is done to pique someone's curiosity. You never
know what might get someone interested and therefore, more
active in the troop.

I agree that the newsletter needs to be published regularly and
you should have a schedule so people know when to expect it.
We've been guilty of not following our schedule and we are
working to improve it.

I'm also interested in what software packages other troops use,
either PC or Mac. We are losing our troop resource in this area
and we need to find a suitable replacement.
