Dennis,
I don't know if this varies from state to state, so I'm posting this to
the whole group. In Dallas, if the boy sells 8 units, he gets a patch.
16 units he gets a choice of a flashlight or knife *AND* the patch.
Trails End added a new incentive this year (and improved the knife). For
30 units, the boy gets a choice of a basketball or compass, AND the flashlight
or knife AND the patch.
The next incentive is dollar amount. If the boy sells $1,000.00 he gets
Nike hiking or tennis shoes.
This is the only fundraiser my pack does, and it has always been a big
success. With the new 30 unit incentative, some of the boys that stopped
when they got their 16 units (read, my son) have already sold enough to
get the basketball.
I would check with someone other than you pack coordinator in case he's
new and may not have understood the incentives.
