Re: Ancient Greece Theme run on and breif skit, corny

Run On:

Scout walks on eating a small bag of French fries. Asks Scoutmaster
"Mr. Scoutmaster. Where were the first French fries made?"

The Scout master replies "Why, in grease of course."

(Much groaning from the adults in the audience)

Skit:

Scoutmaster announces Pack xxx's "Great Moments in History"
interpretation of the first meeting of the two great Greek
philosophers: Eumendidies and Euripidies.

First Scout walks on with a sign "Ye Olde Greek Tailor Shop" he sits
cross-legged under it. He mimes sewing and stitching or uses a few
simple props.

Second Scout walks on with a pair of obviously torn pants.

First Scout stops sewing, gets up, stares at the second Scout for a
moment and then exclaims in a voice of surprised recognition and a bit
of a Brooklyn accent, "Hey! You rippa deese?"

Holding out the pants, the Second Scout responds in a similar tone
"Yeah! You menda deese?"

Make your own "Great Moment in History" skit kit.
(Batteries not included. Assembly required.)

Socrates was condemned to death for teaching the youth of his day to
rebel and question authority. He was forced to drink the poison called
Hemlock. A Hemlock is a variety of tree. Hmmm ...

Seems to me that some clever Scouter now has the makings of a Fawlty
Towersesque skit where the Judge (John Cleese type of course) sends a
bumbling fool (Manuel) out to bring him the hemlock and the fool
returns with a tree instead of the poison upsetting the Judge
immeasurably. Ultimately, they are out of poison and decide to give
Socrates a good thrashing after which they let Socrates go, but only
if he promises to go away, never come back and change his name to ...

With a bit of help from our friends in the U.K. this might have
possibilities.

YIS,
Bob Taschler
