Subject-line ambiguities

I really apologize for burning up one of the daily alotment of messages with
this, but this is getting really difficult to handle. No other list I read
has as much problem with this as Scouts-L. I'm referring to the blank and
ambiguous subject lines. Please, title your messages so I know if it is
something that interests me. In addition to the empty subject lines,
"Hello", "Hi", "Help", and "Your mail" waste my time when I open it to
discover a message I would have otherwise passed over. With the volume on
Scouts-L sometimes, I have to be very selective which messages I read.
I participate in a couple of support group mailing lists and when someone
entitles a message, "Help" they are sending up warning flags in my head.
Imagine my annoyance when I thought it was going to be someone describing a
personal crisis that needs my help and it turns out to be someone wanting
the lyrics to a camp song or a dutch oven recipe. It only takes a few extra
moments to label your message something meaningful. If you want song lyrics,
call your message "Song Lyrics" and above all don't call it nothing.
Sorry to gripe so much.
