Re: ethics in action

Kim,
At our last Cub Scout Pow Wow, we invited a specialist in learning
disabilities to help the EIA session. The specialist was also a den
leader and had never been exposed to the EIA booklets. Says something
about the training impact we have. I was only able to catch a few minutes
of her presentation and she was discussing the impact that the EIA
(Dyslexia - Dog face on head) had just had on her. Another piece that
you may want to try is the video that is packaged with Ages & Stages
which covers the topic of how/when to use with the den. We use this
and the EIA package (back of the How-to Book, also) for the district
Roundtable.

Much like anything we do in Scouting, the audience has to be
prepared, shown, uses succesfully, then espouses the change. Just went
through this at Scoutmastership Fundamentals with the Reflection process.
Lots of Lightbulbs going off when we started doing the reflections.
