For the November Pack meeting, in lieu of a skit, we are going to do a
"Fitness is Fun" event. See the work-up of this idea at:
http://www.creighton.edu/~bsteph/pack114/library/packcamp.html#fitness

We meet in a gymnasium with a stage. Basically, we'll set up stations
around the room such as Balance, Jump, Catching, Running, Sit-ups, etc.
Each scout & child will receive a (index) card (for their rank) listing
the stations they need to visit (younger scouts should have a parent lead
them through the "maze" of stations). At each station, an older scout &/or
parent will "sign off" each requirement. The cards list the requirements
that need to be met for each requirement for an achievement/activity
badge: Wolf - #1 Feats of Skill; Bear - #16 Building Muscles; Webelos -
Athlete Activity Badge. For the Tigers, we'll improvise and do a simpler
version of the Wolf list. The scouts should be able to fulfill most if
not all the requirements for the achievement/activity badge. We have 55
scouts (11 of whom are my Webelos II), and I expect it will take between
30-45 minutes to complete the circuit. (I presented this idea at the Sept
Pack Comm meeting so I could let the other leaders know NOT to duplicate
my den's efforts.)

Since my Webelos II scouts have already received their Athlete activity
badge, they will "man" each station along with a volunteer (i.e.
recruited) adult. Then at the end, they will ALL be able to participate
in the relays. When it's all over, each scout & child who participates
will receive a simple "olympic medal" ("cheap" medal on a red, white &
blue ribbon - about $4/doz at a local novelties store). Then we'll have
hotdogs, chips & juice.
