Our Council runs a Fall & a Spring SMF. The course director/scoutmaster is
chosen usually from the previous course staff. Most of the training staff is
Wood Badge trained. As SM this Fall, I was responsible for recruiting my
staff and encouraged to bring in 1/3 new staff. Staff was recruited across
the Council I was also free to choose the location for the Saturday and
Evening sessions (the weekend was held at our Council campground).
I agree with others that the closed district staff stiuation should be
brought to the attention of Council Training Chair and/or SE. Any complaints
about training out of district should be truthfully answered with
constructive criticism of the district course. What is going to happen when
the existing staff retires? YiS
