Dear Martin:
The is a National Scouting Program called Learning for Life that deals
exclusively with problems such as you have described. It is currently
up and running in Los Angeles and has been met with great success. I
have been told that National is slowly bringing this program to all the
Council in the Country--but its slow in coming. If your Council doesnt
have access to this program try calling Robert Scoular who is the
Cahirman of this program from my Council. He can be reacjhed at
213-413-4400. He should be able to get you the info that you need. If
he's not available try the coordinator Pamela Sanders at 213-413-4400
x231. I know that there are many changes that have been made to the
program for challenged children to include them in rank adavancement.
Within our own district there is a push to see these boys also
challenged to be Eagles. Good Luck! Yours in Scouting
