Ronald is right. In my pack when we have the first years Webelos ceremony,
and the second year Webelos Arrow of Light, the second years go into
a troop. They do not continue on in the pack as they are done. (This is
also why we are checking out troops :).

I have wrote several people that I will probably need a support group when
I am no longer a den leader after 4 1/2 years!

Now on to the question that someone asked about who pays for awards.

Our pack pays for all awards *EXCEPT* for rank badges. Ross Perot pays for
all rank badges at least in the Dallas area. (No political plug, he's been
doing it for years).

Arrowpoints, beltloops, activity pins, patches, all come out of the pack
funds. We charge three dollars per boy per month (tigers get patches
too from the Patch Place for their big ideas). This is not enough to
offset our costs, be we usually have a good turn-out on popcorn.

I'll also repeat myself from my first posting. As soon as the boy is
eligible for his rank badge, it is awarded. Since he cannot wear his
arrowpoints til he has this, why make him wait? It is also an incentive
to motivate the other boys. We do one big ceremony for each rank, but
award the badges as quickly as the boys earn them.

As far as BB beltloops, again, I as a certified instructor have never
been asked to sign off on any paperwork. Our Council is thinking about
incorporating this and putting those loops behind the counter, but have
not done so yet. You need to check to see what policy is, there may not
be a requirement to receive something in writing.
