Questions on Cub Advancement/Awards

1. When can the boys begin wreaking on next rank?
As soon as a boy "graduates" to the next level (our pack does has
these ceremonies during the May pack meeting) they can begin
working on the next rank. Many Pack give the next book as part of the
graduation ceremony. Certainly summer camp activities can be applied
towards the new rank.
2. Should dens advance as a group?
NO! At this age, it's a lot to ask a boy to wait until the rest of his den
catches up before rewarding him with his new rank. In our pack of
90 we had ceremonies every month for what ever ranks were
completed including Bobcat. We did set a GOAL of completing
all ranks by Blue and Gold. But that was so the Den Leaders
knew what was expected of THEM as far as scheduling. Some
boys finished earlier, some later, some not at all.
