Actually, you are not alone. It soemtimes takes me a little while to
figure out what some of those initials mean. It is especially true because
the email I may read before Scouts-L may be work related, and have a
different set of Acronyms.
The library profession, like most, has its own language. For the lay people
who serve on library boards, one of the organizations here in Connecticut
has put together a 10 page booklet with the Acronyms and what they mean. I
often use it! (after all, ALA [the American Library Association] has a page
in it's conference programs with acronyms...it is now done in about 8 point
type!!) This may be a file to add to a FAQ or an archive somewhere...or
maybe either one of the Mike's has one ready to go?
