Hi, Tim!
Got a nice note from Randy V.P. last week about your stay at Wolfeboro.
I have an ASM for Venture Crew (I was the ASM-Venture before becoming
SM). There is even a position patch for it (#00022). Actually, I have
several, but all but one are away at college.
There are perhaps 2 or 3 other parents besides the two of us who will
frequently go on the Venture Crew outings, but the one ASM works with
the Crew Chief in planning details. The only problem we have had is
finding enough car seats for the snowshoe backpack trips. Last winter
we averted that crisis when one Scout became sick before the trip, and
another realized he had invited a girl to the Junior Prom that night.
The troop calendar comes first. The PLC plans it in May for the year
beginning in September. The Venture Crew then works around that.
We pride ourselves on having 12 months of camping for every Scout in
the troop who wants it, so we don't cut back on the troop activities.
