I have an old Sierra Club Wilderness Handbook that was publihsed in
1965. Reading it nowadays is good for a few laughs.
Several days ago, Someone mentioned a book(?) about different types
of fires and how to use them. I noticed right off that most used to
appear in the BSA literature, but have been removed lately as policy
has been increasingly "radiclaized".
Last night's four questions are a good example of this. I fear for
the future of BSA, when a Scout can no longer survive in the Wilder-
ness because the basic skills of warmth and shelter have been
sanitized from the program.
Just my $0.02 worth, from a tired and grouchy antelope.
