Ther is quite a bit of discussion or dessention(sp) regarding the size of
savings for a scout troop or pack. We maintain a svings account for funds
that are for long term projects, High adventure trips, etc. Also for summer
camp. Other than that we try to budget our fundraising and dues payments on
a monthly basis into a checking account. The treas and the cc can sign. No
one else. If you have concerns over large sums of money, you can even bond
the treas. the cost is about $200 per year. Seems a bit funny for a scout
troop to go to that extent though.
