(The Explorer G.O.L.D. Award is the present version of the Exploring
Achievement Award, first awarded in 1978. The requirements are structured
to be as flexible as Explorer Posts and Ships are, and any registered Explorer
up until age 21 may earn the award. The present award consists of a gold
pendant suspended from a while (silver) ribbon, along with a certificate,
lapel pin and square knot (the same one used for the previous Exploring
achievement awards and the same one used by holders of the old Ranger,
Ace and Silver Awards).

There *is* a scripted ceremony, Jay...I have a copy in my Exploring stuff
coming by mail ("slow boat") ("oxen cart"). If you don't mind waiting about
a month for it, I'll be more than happy to email you a copy (and to post it to
Jon for the archives as well, since this is something *I* hope will "catch on"
and grow).

I'm curious as to what other Councils have done for presentation of this award
as well....so please post away!!
