My math is kinda rusty (like my German! *smiling*) but it should take 5
boys or more for a candidate to win the election. This is assuming that
everyone
votes for a candidate, and does not "waste a vote" on "Mickey Mouse", "the
Terminator" or someone whom is not one of the four candidates.
Then in those cases, it could be as simple as highest vote count, with some boys
getting two or three votes and others receiving only one or two.
I had a Senior Patrol Leader to be elected by seven of the 28 boys. He was one
of three candidates, and many of the new boys assumed that the "election was
rigged" and voted for "stupid candidates". As a personal policy, I show the
ballots of each election after the election has been "certified" by the
current SPL.
I get some pretty embarassed Scouts, especially in tight races when the margin
of election was only one vote.
This also brings home the concept (idea, thought, *experience*) that indeed
*your vote counts* to each Scout.
I've missed ALL of you folks...give me a couple of days to have this account
cleared at the home front, and I'll be rejoining the conversation on Scouts-L.
Thanks for your prayers and well-wishes. Jessica, READ YOUR EMAIL *heheheee*
