Why are the parents sitting apart? I have seen many packs use the
two rows of seats arrangement, but the parents were always sitting
behind their sons. Besides the obvious benefit of being able to
control squiggly Scouts (all ages), it gives the Scouts the ability
to hand their awards back for safe keeping. Far fewer of them end
up on the floor after we've put the chairs away.
If your pack becomes too large for the "U"-shaped seating arrangement,
you can use regular auditorium-style (rows upon rows), but keep the
younger dens up front where they can see and still leave an extra
row for the parents behind the den.

Stop boasting! and feel sorry for the folks who cannot recruit enough
boys to fill one den for each age level. :-) Most folks would find a
way to seat them if they found enough boys to have your problem. Or
split into two packs....
