Re: Air Force Museum

We took our troop to the WP-AFB campground and the Air Force Museum this
spring and the kids had a wonderful time. Don't count on base facilities
other than camping to be available and you might need a good orienteering
course to find the campground from the front gate. Regardless of what they
tell you on the phone, fires ARE allowed (but you should bring your own
wood), and there are NO picnic tables (actually, there are 2 for 40
campsites), porta-potties are on site, but the water is a mile or so away.

Also, a warning about the museum... it is free and there is plenty of
parking, etc, but they will not allow kids to wander through the museum
without adult accompaniement. So, if your kids are interested in different
things or want to progress at different rates, make sure you have one (at
least) to wander with each group.
