PTA charters

Our Pack is still chartered by the PTA, however we are the last
in our District and one of the last in our Council. Some PTAs were
frightened off by the liability issue, and others refused to continue
because of the "God" and "gay" issues. Our Pack and
PTA have many duplicate leaders, and the PTA is
supportive of the Cubs, but does not give any financial help. (The
PTA is pretty strapped itself.)
The school district is nevertheless supportive of scouting and
allows groups to use the buildings in the afternoons and evenings
without charge. (Unfortunately they charge for week-end use, and
our Pack meets Sat. afternoo, so we use the church that many of us belong
to.)
