Back from Summer Camp

Glenn E Schwartzberg (gschwartz@EARTHLINK.NET)

Just got back from summer camp, Camp Whitsett in the southern Sierras in Ca.
I went with 11 scouts and had a great time. My biggest complaint was that
they have too much program! The scouts couldn't do everything. They have one
of the best staffs I have seen, and bend over backwards to help the scouts.

Recent comments about rifle ranges and the Rifle Shooting and Shotgun
Shooting merit badges are not applicable here. There program was great with
4 hours of lecture covering all aspects of the badges. Scouts who never shot
were getting mid 40's by the end of the week.

If you are looking for a good camp I would highly recommend this camp. Email
me privately if you would like additional information.

I would also like to publicly thank Dan Lord and Dave McCollugh from Las
Vegas, I met them on Arrow-L and found out that they were going to be in
camp the same week as our troop was. I had lost my second leader for the
second half of camp and sent them a plee for help. Without a flinch, they
volunteered to fill in for him so the scouts would be able to go to camp.
These two gentlemen exemplfy what scouting and the O/A is all about
Helpfulness and Cheerful Service. My thanks again guys.

YIS,
