A great Organization

I just wanted to publicly thank the Boy Scout organization for a small
gift it has given our whole family and especially my son this summer. I
sent Ted to camp with his troop for a week in early July. He was not
very enthustic about it and not at all prepared. I had thought it was
the first week of Augest not July! His scoutmaster even had to take him
to his physical because I had to be out of town. Ted has had a very
hard life with MANY moves and we finally offically adopted him less than
a year ago. He has done poorly at school and is not generally good at
making friends or long term relationships. When he called mid-week I
was afraid he was in trouble and needed to come home. Instead he was
calling to tell me he had been asked to stay as a CIT. He is still not
home though he did call last night to say i could come get him Saturday.
He sounds so much more mature and sure of himself. He is talking about
allowing me to place him in some special classes so he can catch up at
school and most of all about "working" there next summer. All I can say
is THANK YOU to His Scoutmaster, Lost Lake Scout Reservation, and most
of All Boy Scouts for giving him some self-confidence and esteem. This
is what it is all about folks. These organizations of ours really do
work for the kids.
