The problem of getting that advice and guidance offline, is twofold.
First, it's costly if you go the "professional route" (the BSA's site costed
them...us..$43,000 to establish....I'll talk about that later) and you get what
you can pay for (and in some cases, you don't get what you paid for...the
BSA site is a good example of that too!).
Second, if you go the volunteer Scouter route, you enter into a situation
whereby it *could be* interpreted to "mean" that "you're not anything
unless you have a computer and are online like we are", which would tend to
make a lot of Scouters that *just barely can afford* a uniform and a couple
of books have to go out and get a computer and modem and software "to
keep up".
I agree with you that there are lots of people out there interested in
Scouting, and that's why Chris Marley's US Scouting Service Project is
"doing" such great "business" over the past couple of years. Like anything
else, we volunteers have a better idea of what Scouts and Scouters are
looking for....

I agree. But I can't throw stones at them, like I stated, when my OWN
pages are full of errors. I take it that as time goes onward, that like I'll
be able to go back and fix my errors, that they will do the same as well.
Also remember that the BSA may NOT have supplied the text for the
pages....or that the text they did supply was edited by the webprovider.
