I just thought I would interject a little pessimism <g> here regarding the
internet demonstration. As it was mentioned before, It is a good idea to
shwo the audience that it takes a little time for the software and pages to
load up.
However, I would suggest you consider a backup plan in case any one of the
following problems come about.
- Phone line not available
- Phone line is digital, (like an office phone system)
- Provider is really busy, or down.
All these things could turn a great interent demo, into a lecturer's
nightmare.
You might want to poke around on the internet, and try some fo those programs
that will download a web site, all pages and graphics, to your hard drive.
This way, if all else fails you can at least show them the web site on your
hard drive. It will give them some idea on what it expect. I know one
program out there that will download a web site is called web-whacker.
