Bubble in Compass

Ned Jacklin and Jeff Wickman (LASNJ@CCMAIL.CECO.COM)
Mon, 1 Jul 1996 14:08:37 CST

My son and I each have Recta model DP-6 compasses from Switzerland.
His, somewhere along the line, has developed an annoying air bubble
inside. It doesn't really present any problem with the operation of
the compass, but it's a nuisance having it floating around in there.

Does anyone know how it can be removed (i.e., put more liquid in the
compass) without causing any further problems with the compass? I'd
hate to ruin it. What is the liquid used in most compasses?

Please respond privately as I will be shutting off the list in a day
or two.

Anyone with information regarding question about taking my Troop to
Switzerland please respond privately also.

Thanks in advance!
