I agree it is always best to identify yourself and add an electronic
"signature" (many mailers can do this automatically). But there is also
an easy solution for people who have to use a mailer which strips the
headings off of incoming messages: the LISTSERV software can send
messages with dual headers (i.e. normal headers, and a copy of the
headers included in the message body). To get this, send the following
command to LISTSERV@TCUBVM.IS.TCU.EDU :
set scouts-l dualhdr
(or of course, set * dualhdr to get it for all the lists on the listserv)

The main disadvantage is of course that all the messages will become a
bit bigger...
