I remember something about hats being authorized (encouraged) for special
events. At the 1977 jamboree our staff section wore white ball caps with
the jamboree emblem on them. Seems like there were different varieties for
different groups (sub camps, program areas, etc.) but that's several years
ago and I can't remember for sure. I think we all wore berets at the 1973
jamboree (at least the western side of it).
Personally, I like the specialty hats if they aren't TOO radical!!
