Not only are local troops wearing non-official custom baseball caps, our
council provided them two weeks ago for all the participant of its two
JLTC training troops - one yellow and one blue. Last year our council
ran the less-universal Brownsea JLT course where the uniform standards
were much more stringent. The official mesh BSA baseball style cap was
the only one acceptable. Does anyone know if the new JLTC sylabus
allows or encourages non-official caps? When allowed at a high level
training course such as this, there is no way a council's troops can (or
should) indefinitely hold out for the letter of the law (read insignia
guide).
