This really isn't too off-topic.
I currently have an account from Juno. I have also suggested it to the
scouts in the troop. It is a local call, so the phone charges are free, and
the software is free, and the service is free. (free, free, free <g>)
It uses a top corner of the screen to display advertisements. This is how
they pay for the service. In addition, the software downloads the email and
then logs off, saving phone usage conflicts for you one-line households (like
me).
I plan to start sending out annoucements to scouts and leaders via e-mail,
this fall. (will still send out announcements though snail mail). This will
also help those scouts that need to submit written work for merit badges and
rank. They can send the work to me (the adv chair), and I can approve the
work at my liesure, rather than being bombarded with all this paperwork, all
at once.
Oh well, its still in the planning stages, but i'll let you know how it works
out.
