I have been following the games disscussion and finally decided to put
in my .2 worth. The following is a training I have given many times.
the games are fun and do not require much in the way of equipment.
Unfortanly, (actually fortantly if you heard me sing) I can not give you
the tunes to the songs. Just make up your own it's the fun that counts.
Have fun with them. Dori

Hip Pocket Program
A bakers dozen of ideas
Hip pocket program is Anything you do at the spur of the moment
with little or no equipment. The ideas are good to keep in mind (or in
your hip pocket) and pull out when needed.
GAMES WITH MUSIC
1. 21 count to 100 from 21 while partners change to let person in the
middle in. Last one in middle starts new game.
2. STONE, STONE One person sits in center of circle while others pass
an object around while singing. stone, stone, where do you wander?
from one hand into another. Is it right, is it fair, to leave
poor__________sitting there. Eyes of person in middle are shut until
the first time they hear their name. then they try to guess who has the
object while it is passed around and the group keeps singing.
3. THIS WAY WILLOBY Two facing lines. Partners face each other. One
partner goes down between lines diagonally doing ANY action. They end
up a end of opposite line. Other partner must repeat action and end up
at the end of first partners line. repeat until everyone has had a
chance to be the first partner. Song: This was willoby, that way
willoby, this way willoby, all the way home. Here comes another one,
just like the other one, here comes another one, all the way home.
GAMES
4. NAME ACTION GAME Circle, Everyone in turn states their name and
gives an action. Group must repeat name and action twice.
5. SMOGS JEWLES Circle, Everyone stands in a circle with one person
in center. Center person is SMOG(of Toklen fame). She has a bag of
Jewles ( a knoted bandana or other object) between she feet. Her feet
are frozen to the ground but she may move her upper body. The object is
for someone in the outside circle to steal the jewles without being
frozen by a touch from SMOG.
6. PRUI Mass formation. Eyes closed. One person secretly is Prui and
silent. All others wander around asking Prui? ? when you find the
Prui you hold hands and open eyes and are silent.
7. BARN YARD BEDLAM Mass formation. Eyes closed or covered. Divide
into groups with each group given an animal to make the sound of. Close
eyes and mix up groups. Each group tries to get together by making
sound.
8. LAUGH Any formation. Group must laugh as long as
handkerchief is in air. Must be silent when it drops. Excellent for
breaking tension.
9. KIM S GAME Take several objects and place on tray. Cover with
handkerchief. Give one minute to observe then list objects. Hint: for
younger girls just remove one or tow objects and have them guess which
is missing.
NATURE ACTIVITIES
10. GET TO KNOW A -------- Take a leaf, rock, orange, etc. examine it
carefully. Name it, tell about it s life and what it wants to be, mix
it up with others and then find it. Excellent diversity activity.
11. CIRCLE OBSERVATION Give each pair of girls a piece of string.
they lay it out and list everything in circle. Hint: come visit your
circle another time if possible.
12. PINE CONE ANIMAL A little glue, a few eyes, a pine cone and a LOT
of imagination and you could have ANYTHING.
13, RUBBINGS Paper and crayons will create masterpieces.
