As a member of the Leadership Corps and later as an Instructor, all of us
"straphangers" (my term for those that don't have critical roles, but are
there "to help out when and whatever") sang ALL of the verses during the
first half of the course, and then sang our "respective verse" with the rest
of the patrols in the latter half of the course. During Wood Badge reunions
and other times, of course, we would sing the "staffer verse".

It was really funny a few years back during the National Capital Area Council's
Wood Badge Reunion program when I had to literally run to join the rest of the
staffers in singing the "staffer verse". Most of the staffers were at or
near the
front of the room, and I was almost in the back (I got lost finding the
place twice,
so I was 20 minutes late!). But it didn't matter, my fellow Staffers came
half-way
to me as we all sang the staffer verse of the Wood Badge song.
