Re: SMOKING (was Re: Return From Philmont)

G'day there,

>EPA cannot put a number to the supposed second hand smoke theory. Cars
>produce more toxins just starting than any cigarette will. I'll stop
>smoking my pipe when people stop drinking and driving- I mean 100% stopped!!!

I am dont denying your right to smoke, I just want to explain a situation to
you which may help you see another side of this debate.

I lost my friend to some one deciding that my friends astma was not as
important as his having a cigarette.

Second Hand cigarette smoke with some people, does induce astma attackes. I
am maried to someone who is physically sick every time hs is around
cigarette smoke.

My friend and i were out having a meal in a *non smoking area* of a
resturant. We dont mind if people smoked as long as it wasnt nere my friend.
Anyhow, some people decided that they were not going to shift to the smoking
area and light their cigarettes next to us. My Friend had her last (and
fatal) astma attack that day. The verdict from the doctor who did the casue
of death and examination was a astma attack induced by cigarette smoke.

Second Hand cigarette smoke can kill in other ways than just cancer.
