It is my understanding that DEET, as well as the pyrethrins and other
repellants, is not good to have on teh skin. Repellants that have high
concentrations are especially not good to leave on the skin. Better to
put the repellant on the clothing, as much as possible. DEET on the
trouser leg and sox will keep the ticks away.
In all formulations, watch out for the spray cans. Make an impressive
blowtorch when combined with a lighter. Especially impressive inside of
a tent!
