Folks,

Here's my dilemma. My son is currently a Bear scout (just graduated.) He
has earned the Cub Scout World Conservation Award. The proper place for
that is ON the right pocket of his shirt. He is also a Tiger Cub Graduate.
I am told that the proper place for the new patch will be UNDER the right
pocket on his shirt. When he becomes a Webelo, I am pretty sure that he will
earn the Compass Pt. Badge. The correct place for that is ON the right
front pocket. I am not sure whether or not he will ever earn the Recruiter
patch, but the correct place for that is UNDER the right pocket.

It is just my opinion, but I think that the World Conservation Patch should
be treated with a bit more dignity than most temporary patches. Since it is
an award you must work hard for and can only earn once. Completing three
achievements, electives or activity pins and participating in a conservation
project shows a lot of hard work and commitment on the part of these young
boys. Is there any way that we can get a set of rules that show us how to
get all of these patches on the shirt. I realize that will make it more
crowded than it already is. But, I don't think that the World Conservation
Patch should immediately be relegated to the Red Vest, or however else you
display your other temporary patches. And, I'm sure the Tiger Cub Graduates
feel the same way about the new patch. So, who do we write to to get them
to look into this problem?
