More on BOR

Well I was a little dissappointed in the replies I recieved on my post re
Board of Review Members.
Thank you all for your input on the purposes of the Board of review and
on why Committee members make it up.
But you did little to address my REAL LIFE problem. NO COMMITTEE MEMBERS!
We are a brandy new troop with only 6 active boys. ( 2 more currently hot
into baseball)
Now...1 is mine, and one is the son of the CC and the Treasurer.
They are both scouts from prior units who now await BORs for 2nd and 1st
class.
That leaves 3 of us out. We have the CR who will be asked, and 1 mom who
is registered as a committee member. The others either do not want to
commit to being registered or scream no time available. The CC feels
that is we push too hard we may lose the boys. (I aggree with him)
So I ask again...In order to get these boys along, and also to help teach
the people we DO have how to best run a BOR, what does the list think of
asking scouters from nearby towns to help us with these BORs? Of course
my hope is with growth, we will be able to do our own in the future, but
for now, do I make these scouts sit and wait?
