"Campaigne" Hats (Smokey)

CHUCK BRAMLET (chuckb@AZTEC.ASU.EDU)

I have a question about the campaigne style hat: The "Smokey Bear"
if you will.

I found one this weekend at a local outlet mall. ( No, I didn't buy
it, but was sure tempted. ;) ) The brand name is "Campaigne", and
the hat is %100 wool. It feels fairly hard, but I am a bit curious
as to how this particular hat will stand up to use, esp. in the
varied weather that such a hat is likely to see.

The sales staff didn't know much about it, except that they had a
fairly steady flow of customers, at least enough to keep them stocked.

Oh, the hat sells for $28.

Any ideas or pointers??

Oh, and my wife was rather graphic in her opinion of it's lack of
practicality.
