The author writes
"why would anyone put themselves in such a risky situation" i.e. getting
involved with Boy Scouts and risk being sued by someone.
IMHO, we are all at risk of being sued by someone every day. That should not
stop us from trying to do things that we enjoy and we believe are worthwhile.
I would not fail to help an injured person lying on the street for fear that
the person might sue me later. Neither will I throw up my hands and give up
Scouting for fear that someone my take offense to me.
Neither will I stop riding in a car for fear of wrecks, stop eating butter
for fear of heart attacks, and on and on ....
I'm sure you find it hard to get over this, but you can't isolate yourself
from the world or you become the loser.
Be strong.
