Corporate or other Grants

Does anyone have information on BSA troops applying for Grants? In
particular I am thinking about corporate or private grants as opposed to
governmental ones.
Has anyone experience with approaching companies for SPECIFIC requests
such as when outfitting a new troop?
We have started fundraising, but with a large variety of sports programs,
schools, and other scouts or organizations in town, our townspeople are
pretty burnt out from fundraising.
