On the question of long-term camp not at a recognized BSA camp, national or
council, and meeting the requirement for the Troop Quality Unit--
As a commissioner, I have run into this situation, and I know how it is
handled in our council. If a troop chooses to run their own long-term camp
program, it is accepted as meeting the Quality Unit requirement, IF
IF they fill out the *proper paperwork* with the council. I believe that
this is a form from national, and it requires a great deal of detail. It has
been a year or two since I read through it, but as I remember it requires
detailed information on the program as planned, menus for meals, safety
provisions, and a lot more.
The troop submits the paperwork, and if it meets the requirements, the
council accepts that as a qualifying long-term camp for the Quality Unit.
