Re: Excess Scout Energy

After reading the letter I immediately dismissed it as a hoax!!!
If you carefully read the letter, I am pretty sure that it was
written by an adult (perhaps a dememted one or one trying to start
a panic). The sentences are lengthy and have multiple thoughts.
Also, the punctuation is perfect. A few words are carefully placed
to make it sound like a kid wrote it.

Most of this kind of stuff died with the movie, "American
Graffiti". I not heard of anything like this being attempted since
about 1965. For better of worse, the Scouts that I work with are
too obsessed with MTV and Video games to even think about these
types of pranks.

Television and Nintendo has crippled most forms of independant
thinking and made a bunch of couch potatoes...

Maybe this is a fringe benefit.

P.S. On the lighter side, if anyone is having these problems,
maybe they should make a Merit Badge on abusing younger Scouts.
Then it will sound like WORK--- Then none of the kids will want
anything to do it. :-)
(just kidding of course)
