How can I put it...
For all of you who received the post on what one scout's troop
does to new members, you know what I mean.
That was the most aweful thing I have ever heard of!
After following the thread about hazing and snipe hunts,
I thought I had heard it all, but this takes the cake.
How can a scout, and his fellow scouts do such a thing
to new members of their troop? This is not the behavior of
a scout. This goes against everything scouting stands for. If I
was in that troop, or if I was the SPL, I would raise
hell (pardon my French,) over such an incident. It's bad enough
that the scouts keep on doing it after being caught by their
leaders, but to think it's funny???
Not to meantion all the psycological damage the victem
would get. Stripping him, dreanching him with ice-cold water,
putting mud all over him, abandoning him for lenghts of time,
how could a scout do such a thing? What if it was on a winter
trip, He could get frostbite, or hypothermia!
If I was a victim of this, I would take the kids to
court. I would also transfer units, and report this behavior to
the council office.
There is no pride taken from stealing it from another.
