My Troop went their last summer as a change of pace from our council's
Hidden Valley camp. Treasure Island really is an island and it is located
on the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Access to the
island is by boat from the Pennsylvania side of the river. I can't think of
anything special that you would take to TI that you wouldn't take to other
BSA summer camps.
Our boys came back complaining about the food. The adult leaders were
disappointed in first year camper program. They were used to an intensive
Scout skills program that our council runs for Scouts who haven't reached
First Class.
Both adults and boys raved about going tubing on the Delaware River.
Neither my son nor I went to summer camp last year, so I can't give you any
personal observations.
