Re-Introduction

Michael F. Bowman (mfbowman@CAPACCESS.ORG)
Sat, 30 Mar 1996 02:19:46 -0500

Finally, I am back online after nearly a month of missing the daily flow
of discussion on Scouts-L. For those who tried to contact me in the past
month without success I offer my apologies if I missed your message or
was late in responding. Our Internet Provider moved its servers from DC
to Virginia and was offline or experiencing problems until last week.
After a day back online my motherboard finally gave up the ghost and
fried my hard drives, etc. Thanks to the efforts of two other Scouts-L
Scouters who spent long hours helping, my PC is back up and running.

By way of introduction/re-introduction, I am the Deputy District
Commissioner for Training in the George Washington District of the
National Capital Area Council. I started Scouting as a Cub back in 1961
and earned the Rank of Eagle in 1967. In 1970 I was the Lodge Chief for
Ojibawa Lodge and received my Vigil Honor in 1971. I've enjoyed Scouting in
Harrison Trails Council, Central Indiana Council, Anthony Wayne Area Council,
Sagamore Council and Mount Rainier Area Council, where I worked on camp
staffs. Over the years I've been an Assistant Scoutmaster, Den Leader,
Den Leader Coach, Cubmaster, Unit Commissioner, District Committee
Member, Council Religious Relationship Committee Member, Akela Calls
Staffer, etc. From Wood Badge I've picked up the moniker of Professor
Beaver. I've gotten infected with the Internet bug, so you'll find some
of my pages at both the MacScouter and U.S. Scouting Service Project Web
Sites.

I am glad to be back here at the electronic roundtable that never ends,
where Scouters and Guiders from around the globe can share ideas,
stories, and some humor while constantly striving to be of service to youth.

Speaking Only for Myself in the Scouting Spirit, Michael F. Bowman
a/k/a Professor Beaver (WB), ASTA #2566, OA Vigil Honor '71, Eagle
Scout '67, Serving as Deputy District Commissioner for Training,
G.W.Dist., Nat. Capital Area Council, BSA - mfbowman@capaccess.org
