Re: Another Religious Emblems Question

In a message dated 96-03-22 13:26:52 EST, you write:

<< Ok, so here is my question...Will he then get a second knot? Or
does/can the one knot represent both awards? And when he goes on into
boy scouting, can he wear these (or the one) knot on his boyscout
uniform? I hear people say that the "Arrow of Light" is the only thing
from the Cub Scout uniform that can be carried over, but are the knots an
exception?

No, he does not get a second knot. Instead, he would be entitled to wear two
miniature devices on the knot itself. These devices would represent each
award. Parvuli Dei would be represented by a Cub Scout miniature; I'm not
totally certain what device would represent Light of Christ earned as a Cub.
If he earned it as a Tiger, there is supposed to be a miniature Tiger device
to reflect that. <Since several faiths will now, or are now offering Tiger
level religious awards

When he goes onto Boy Scouts, he can proudly wear his purple knot with his
two miniatures. Then when he earns Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius, he adds two
more miniatures onto the knot.

When he moves up and volunteers as an adult, he will then wear the religious
award knot with his AOL, and hopefully his Eagle.

Hope this helps, YIS,
