OK, I think I need to de-lurk again. At least for myself if not for all the
men that are registered Girl Scouts.

Nope, not enough of those guys around. My husband (this is his 10th year as
a registered Girl Scout) can attest to that. As well as some prejudice he
has encountered...although moreso in the early 80's than now. But I know
many male leaders. It varies from area to area as to how they are received.
More and more men are beginning to get involved with their daughters and the
majority of us (females) welcome their involvement. Without even leaving
the confines of my own neighborhood I can think of 2 male co-leaders, and at
least 6 other males that are troop committee members. And those are the
ones I know about. I'm sure there are probably others.

IMO I have seen MANY more fathers get involved with their sons than with
their daughters when it comes to Scouts. How about it? How many of you
have daughters and are involved in Girl Scouts with them? Just about every
female Girl Scout leader I know that has a son is also involved in the Boy
Scout side.
