Pushing a rope

An old Scoutmaster's Minute I dusted off last week concerns pushing a rope.
We had been workig on knots all night, and I took a strand of the parachute
cord and tried to push it along the floor with no success.

Then I showed five or six strands that I'd tightly braided together. This pushed
easily along the floor. I pointed out the ropes were a lot like the troop. If
scouts were on their own private agenda not much would be accomplished.
Working together, as a group like the braided ropes were, we could do the
impossible.
