Uniforming and Patrol Leader

Jim Deroba (Deroba@AOL.COM)
Thu, 7 Mar 1996 12:59:06 -0500

How about making Class A part of an ongoing patrol competition. Or some
other type of recognition. Check out the Baden Powel Patrol recognition. I
have never actually seen a patrol that has earned. (Although I am sure I
will hear from lots of them real soon). Have regular uniform inspections and
allow the winning patrol to choose the game for the meeting. In otherwords
offer some tangible reason where if a Scout isn't in uniform he is letting
down his patrol in some small way.
The phone situation is rather easier to handle. Any phone calls to
you get answered with the question. What did your patrol leader say? If
they didn't talk to the patrol leader yet they have broken the chain of
command. Don't answer the question and tell them to call their patrol
leader. They will soon stop calling you constantly and start calling him.
