Hi, Rhonda.
You need to check out the current version of the Cub Scout Leader Book.
The 1995 printings have latest change, ie, the CM Award time was reduced
from 3 to 2 years. "Participate in a Cub Scout leader pow wow or
attend at least four roundtables" are the words that the national form
uses. The older, prior to 1993?, did not even allow the Roundtable to be
counted as a substitute. You might want to ask the Professional (DE/SE)
why there is a discrepency.
It may be that the Training types have
been tinkering with the form in order to "improve" the quality of
the program. It may also be your individual councils decision to
make the requirements of a nationally recognized training award different
in just your council. Seems wwe have had this discussion about adding to
or taking away from established standards before.
When I was a Webelos Den Leader, our district and council didn't even
conduct the training required for the award. We do NOW!
Yours in Scouting and let us know how it turned out.
Try typing with your hands?
