Somebody didn't receive the books he needs and asks why. Now
you tell him "it sounds like you need to get the CURRENT training"
I'm sorry but that is not approriate! What makes you think he isn't
trained?

I would like you to reconsider ideas like waiting for new corrected
books could be worth the delay. I think that would be a mistake. Those
boys are boys now. They are working on the award now. If we want
to wait until revised books are available we can wait instead of doing the
program. To boys waiting times have a very different appeal then
to grownups. Waiting a few months feels to them like waiting a looong
time. If the new program isn't readily available I would simply
teach the old one and switch to the new program next year.

Why don't you award the award soon after the boys earn it and
let the boys participate in the presentation with the bishop anyway?
